This summer we had the chance to travel to Laconia, in particular to the villages of Asopos and Reichia for two concerts. We really enjoyed it, as we had never played in these places before. Antigone was really thrilled as this happens to be her motherland!
Our experience? Two fabulous evenings, merry people and an unexpectedly living tradition hidden in the summits and the valleys of the Zaraka region.
The following video gives you an idea of the atmosphere at both our feasts. (shot and edited by Panos Iliopoulos)
We would like to thank the mayor Mr. P. Aleipheres for her cooperation and hospitality, but most of all, for giving us the chance to play music, to meet and better understand this land that is considered our own as well.
The music album in the photo was created by Nicos Bariames, whom we met at Reichia. It includes recordings of local interpreters from the villages of Zarakas in Laconia. We would like to thank him for the information he gave us as well as for his good words.
